How to use Bank of America's My Portfolio service

Bank of America's online banking services let you view many other online accounts, such as other bank accounts, retirement accounts, credit cards, and mortgages. Here's how to use it.

Go to http://www.bankofamerica.com

If you are not enrolled in online banking, follow the instructions to enroll.
Log in to your Bank of America account.
Click the My Portfolio tab near the top of the screen
In the left column, under the "Add & Manage Accounts" heading, select the link to add accounts.
Start typing the name of the institution where your account is held, for example "Capital One", "Vanguard", "ING Direct", etc, and click "Search".
Once you find the correct account, it will ask for your log in information. Enter all your account information and click "Add Account" at the bottom.
If they do not have your account (for example, if you owe your brother $1000, or if the bank that holds the account doesn't do online banking), click the link to add accounts, click on "or browse the most popular accounts by category" and go to the "Others" tab. Then click "create a manual account" and follow the instructions to create the account. You will need to update the account balances manually.
On the overview page you can now see your net worth and on the Budgeting and Report page you can see pie charts of your spending and assets by category.

  • You can add assets like houses too. There is also a feature that will automatically update the value of your house based on various estimates
